Tim & Lauren Engagement | Wingaersheek Beach

Upon meeting Tim and Lauren on Zoom for their consultation call, I knew right away I wanted to work with them. Their easygoingness, fun, and playful energy are something I look for in couples I work with. So, it’s no surprise that their engagement session felt like spending time with two friends, at one of my favorite beaches; Wingaersheek, in Gloucester, MA.

We went back and forth on if we should reschedule or not due to rain in the forecast, but it was supposed to stop as soon as we started. When I arrived, it was still raining, but 5 minutes before we were supposed to start, it stopped raining, the sun came out and there was a beautiful rainbow. It was incredible! The only downfall (no pun intended) is that there were a lot of tiny flying bugs that would attack us. Luckily, my family came with me to play in the sand while I worked, and they were able to run to a convenience store to buy bug spray!

This was honestly one of my all-time favorite sessions. Everything about it (besides the bugs) was perfect. The couple, their outfit choices, the lighting, the beach, and the fun we had capturing the images. Would you believe at the start of their session they said “We’re really awkward in photos”?? Yeah, I debunked that right away when the first few shots were FIRE. I showed them the back of my camera and they were like ok… we’re not so bad at this after all. I actually snapped way more photos than I usually do at an engagement session, because they were just THAT good. I can’t wait to do it all again at Tim and Lauren’s wedding next summer!

We have known each other our entire lives! My mom and Tim's mom went to college together and became friends. They always wanted us to be friends, but my sister and I decided (for no reason at all) that we didn't like Tim. We used to hide in a kid's tent and "spy" on him or make plans with friends when we knew he was coming over. My sister and Tim ended up going to college together as well and became friends naturally. I "re-met" Tim when he came over to hang out with my sister, and I was waiting for someone else to come pick me up for a date. We talked for a long time waiting for my sister to finish getting ready and eventually, he asked me out.

How did he propose?

Tim proposed under the Christmas lights at Roger Williams Zoo. He flew my cousin/best friend in from London to surprise me. She put rose petals out that Tim had had his niece and nephew pick. He had to change the date the day-of because of a storm that was expected to come in. Unfortunately, the storm decided to come early and we ended up getting engaged in the pouring rain and high winds.

How long have you been together?

Just about 8 years!

What are your hobbies together?

We love to travel, explore, ride bikes, paddleboard and kayak, watch crime shows, and try new restaurants

Have any fun or interesting things about your relationship you'd like to share?
