When Jill contacted me and asked if I would be willing to drive 3 hours to Ocean Point, Maine to photographer her family I was honored. But I didn’t know just how much of a joy it would be to run around with a 6, 4, and 1-year-old. The family drives up from North Carolina every summer to spend time at Jill’s Grandmothers beautiful cottage overlooking the ocean. Perfect spot for photos, as you’ll see.
Just like any family session, there were a few hiccups. Houghton did not want to sit still or look at the camera. Jill fed him and I was able to spend some time with Genevieve and Josephine, who quickly became my new besties. They were so sweet and super photogenic. They told me all about the crabs they caught and what ice cream they love. Houghton Was happier once he ate (I am the same way, Houghton) and I was able to get a lot of great images of this incredible family. After taking photos of everyone, I spent a few minutes capturing images of just Jill and Evan, who just celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary. I LOVE taking a few minutes to get some nice shots of mom and dad, whether it be at a wedding or a family session. I think it is so important to have these memories at different stages in life. The kids are going to love looking at photos of their mom and dad years from now.
After the session, the girls asked if I could stay and play board games with them, Evan offered me food and Jill asked if it would be weird if she offered me a place to stay because they knew I had a bit of a drive. Sweetest family ever. I would drive to Ocean Point any time to photograph the Williams family again!
