Nursery Reveal // Modern Neutral Nursery

Gender Neutral Modern Nursery by Alyssa Parker Photography

I have been dreaming of this nursery for a while now, though it does look a little different from what I had envisioned before we found out I’m pregnant. I originally had planned to put some sort of wallpaper on the back wall where the crib is. But the wall paper would be different depending on if Baby Parker is a boy or girl…. and pretty much as soon as we found out I’m pregnant, I wanted to start putting the nursery together. So, I decided a modern gender neutral themed nursery would be best, and I could add wallpaper later if I wanted to. But, because the room is not very big, I decided wall paper wouldn’t be a good idea, because it would make the room feel too cramped. So, we started by painting the room Sherwin William’s Pure White, hung these curtains on this gold curtain rod. For furniture I knew I wanted the crib to be white and wanted it to have a some what headboard like look. This crib is a 4-in-one, so baby Parker can grow into it. I got a 20% off coupon in the mail (you can usually find them online too) from Buy buy baby and got free delivery. I ordered this rug from rugsusa.com to add some texture, I was a little unsure of the color when it arrived, because it’s off white and the crib is bright white, but now that everything is put together I absolutely love it!! Bright white would have been too white. The small chest of drawers was the hardest thing to find, I originally wanted a light wood tone dresser, but I needed it to be a very specific size to fit the room, and everything I found was either too big or too expensive. So, I ended up going with this white dresser from Wayfair! It’s the perfect size and I love how it looks! I definitely think I made the right decision going with white and not light wood. I plan to put the changing pad on top of the dresser. This one fits on the top perfectly (many are a smidge too long), and I love that it is also a scale! The glider was also a little tricky to find, mostly because all the ones I liked were sold out, but I am so happy with the one we finally decided on. It swivels, glides, and reclines and it’s super comfy! It comes in tons of colors too! I found most of the decor and accessories at HomeGoods or Amazon, find my amazon page of cute nursery decor items here. The final touch was the scripture picture above the crib. We had it custom made with a scripture verse we love; “You Then, My son, be strong in the grace that is in Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 2:1”

You all know I love decorating and it has been so fun redecorating a whole new room while imagining bringing home our baby boy this Winter. I love how bright and clean this room is, I just can’t help but smile every time a walk in it, and I often go in there just to relax on my chair. I hope this gives you some inspiration if you too are decorating a nursery or just in need of some home decor inspo! Thanks so much for reading. It you have any questions, feel free to comment below.

P.S. I plan to make another blog post about how I organize the dresser, would you like that?
